Field Biography

The Legend of the Gringo.

Everything we can legally confirm about Keith. Some details have been redacted. Others were never explained to us in the first place.

Artist's rendering Nº 1Witness-approved
Day 1 · Oaxaca

A work trip. Spreadsheets by day, sensible dinners by night. Keith described himself as "not really a dancer." History disagrees.

Day 3 · A mezcaleria with no sign

The fourth "just one more." Somewhere between sips, a truth no distillery would print: great mezcal doesn't need a reason, an occasion, or the ability to dance well.

Exhibit B
batch idea — do NOT lose
  • mezcal (the good one)
  • a little tequila, for morale
  • lime????
  • bubbles — the loud kind, from the bottle
Artist's rendering Nº 3Accuracy disputed by Keith
Day 4 · The sombrero

Borrowed. Never returned. Never asked for. The polo stayed tucked throughout, a detail every witness mentions unprompted.

Artist's rendering Nº 4Reconstructed from testimony
Day 5 · The incident

The worm was performed. The concrete has recovered. Keith has not addressed the footage.

Exhibit C
Footage unavailable
The incident, artist's rendering pending. Keith is relieved.
"A man possessed, but politely."

Day 6 · Customs

The sombrero cleared without questions. The idea for the recipe did not exist yet. Officially.

Exhibit D
Nothing to declare
Cleared with sombrero. Sombrero not declared.

The garage years

Test batches. Smoke, citrus, and a mineral-water obsession the neighbors learned not to ask about. Batch forty-one was the one. Batches one through forty are sealed by mutual agreement.

Now

The can. The dance floor. You. Keith stretches nightly and announces his retirement most evenings. It has never once been honored.

The man himself

Not the founder.
Something better.

Let's be clear about the org chart: Keith did not found this company. Keith does not run this company. Keith is a regular guy in a borrowed sombrero who embodies everything the can stands for, mostly by accident.

He is our mascot, our conscience, and our most frequent warranty claim. Everything here is gringo-approved — which is a higher bar than it sounds.
